                      Most complete player

Steve Taylor- Steve Taylor is the most complete player in the Illinois class of 2012.  Steve has the athleticism, size and skill that most players and coaches would die to have at any level. Steve can score off the dribble by getting to the basket or pulling up for the mid range. In the post, Steve doesn’t play with his back to the basket a lot but he does have a soft touch floater that he uses to score over players that are bigger and taller than he is.  Steve also has range that stretch out to the perimeter. Defensively, Steve is very disruptive and active causing deflections and altering and blocking shots. Steve is currently a top 75 player nationally in the class of 2012.

                     Best Scorer

Aaron Simpson-  Aaron does not have the size of some of his peers but this combo guard can put the ball in the basket in every way possible. Aaron has crafty ball handling skills that allows him to create his shot anywhere on the floor. Aaron is also a very volume scorer and knows how to score when his team needs a basket.  Aaron is a three level scorer as he is a threat from deep, the mid range area and getting to the basket.

                            Best Passer

Jelani Neely- Jelani is the purest point guard in the class.  Jelani always has his head up and looking to get his teammates easy looks to score.  Jelani can get the ball to his teammates accurately from anywhere on the floor with either hand.  His court vision is off the charts.

                       Best Ball Handler

Derrick Randolph- Derrick simply has the ball on a string.  He is a lil ball of energy.  Derrick is lighting quick with his handle and can size up and blow by anyone on any given possession.

                        Best Shooter

Akeem Springs- Akeem is a sniper from behind the arc.  Akeem has good size and athleticism to go along with his smooth shooting touch.  Akeem is just a flat out athlete. He’s always around the ball and he is a very good offensive rebounder that will occasionally get tip in dunks when his momentum is high.

                   Best Defender

Rashaun Stimage- Rashauns’s size, length, and pride makes him a nightmare matchup for the opposing team. Rashaun is a shot blocker and a thief in the night if you are not tight with the ball.  If Rashaun is not blocking shots or racking up steals, he is definitely altering shots and deflecting balls left and right. His size and motor creates havoc on the court.

                          Best Rebounder

Jay Simpson- Simpson is a disciplined rebounder that knows how to put himself in position to grab boards all game long.  His size and length helps, but he also knows how to properly box his opponent out so that they can’t grab the loose balls around him.
